Gone Fishin'

Despite what the title says, we aren’t actually going fishin’, well not leaving the city to do so at least. Kicking off this weekend is the week long gone fishin’ event held by Scadding Court Community Center. They are filling their pool with fresh water, and then live Rainbow Trout, and for a small fee you can go by and try out your hand at catching a fresh Rainbow Trout for yourself!

Now you may be asking why I’m writing about this? Well, this year I have partnered up with them to offer fresh hot and cold smoked trout. These are the very same trout from the pool, the difference being they have taken a short journey over to my shop, where they have been lovingly cured or brined, then smoked, both hot and cold, then will be returning for sale beginning on Saturday June 14th at 10am. We will be offering them for sale as long as quantities last throughout the week.

Also as part of the Gone Fishin’ week events, there will be a special version of Market 707 as well as the regular Farmers Market! I will be attending both the regular Farmers Market as usual from 3-7pm, as well as the special version on the other side of the building from 5-9pm! Finally, I am happy to announce we will be participating in the 707 West Farmers Market on Mondays from 3-7pm in an effort to be more accessible to everyone in the west end beginning June 16th, weather permitting!
